Taiz – For the third day in a row, the “Memory Museum” exhibition is ongoing at the National Museum in Taiz. The event is organized by SAM Organization for Rights and Liberties and Abductees' Mothers Association, funded by the DT Institute, and held in partnership with the Office of Siege Affairs, the General Authority for Antiquities and Museums – Taiz Branch, and the Office of Culture in the governorate. Its purpose is to preserve the collective memory of the siege and the suffering endured by the city for the past ten years.

The exhibition will run for five days and serves as an important platform to showcase images of human resilience in the face of the city’s brutal blockade.

The event features a wide range of artistic works that depict the tragedies and violations caused by the Houthi siege on Taiz through photographs, paintings, and models, reviving the stories of victims and the suffering of civilians throughout the years of blockade.

The Memory Museum includes more than 250 artworks, 165 photographs, and 20 artistic models illustrating the humanitarian tragedy and the strength of determination in confronting the war.

As of its third day, the event has attracted over 1,500 visitors, including local authority officials, social, cultural, and political figures, as well as journalists, media professionals, human rights advocates, and civil society organizations.

On the third day, a hearing session on violations against journalists in Taiz was held on the sidelines of the event, organized by the House of Journalism Foundation and the Office of Siege Affairs.

This event comes as part of efforts to promote transitional justice and accountability, foster peacebuilding in Yemen, and preserve the collective memory of victims, ensuring that their suffering remains a living voice in the conscience of society.
