SAM Organization for Rights and Liberties, in partnership with the Abductees’ Mothers Association and with support from DT Institute, held a dialogue session under the “Restorative Justice for Marib Governorate” initiative to discuss issues related to the evacuation of the Technical Institute building and the Safer facility. The session brought together relevant authorities, stakeholders, representatives of the local authority, lawyers, and activists in Marib Governorate.
The session discussed the challenges associated with evacuating the two facilities and explored practical solutions to restore public facilities to their service and development roles, while taking into account the conditions of the families currently residing in them.
The session concluded with several outcomes and recommendations, most notably the implementation of the evacuation of the Technical Institute building, strengthening coordination among relevant authorities, and continuing joint efforts to address the evacuation file, particularly with regard to the gas facility, enabling it to provide its services and complete maintenance operations. The recommendations also included working to find suitable alternatives for the families present in the targeted buildings and conducting urgent field visits to identify alternative locations, in a manner that serves the public interest while preserving the dignity and safety of beneficiaries.
This session comes as part of efforts to promote dialogue and consensus around community and service-related issues in Marib Governorate, and to support solutions based on understanding and partnership among the various parties.
