SAM for Rights and Liberties expresses its strong condemnation of the bloody explosion that occurred in the Furwah neighborhood of Yemen’s capital, Sana'a, on April 21, resulting in the deaths of dozens of innocent civilians.
The organization affirms that the protection of civilians during armed conflicts is a legal and moral obligation that must not be compromised under any circumstances.

In light of conflicting reports regarding the party responsible for this horrific incident, and following an official denial of responsibility by U.S. forces, SAM calls on the United Nations to establish an independent international investigation committee.
This committee must have full neutrality and unrestricted authority to access the site, collect evidence, and hear testimonies from victims and witnesses, ensuring that the truth is uncovered and criminal accountability is achieved for all those found responsible, regardless of the entity involved.

SAM stresses that achieving justice for the victims and reinforcing respect for the rules of international humanitarian law require transparent and independent measures, free from political pressures, to guarantee that perpetrators do not escape punishment and to deter future violations.
