The Community Reconciliation and Consensus Committee, under the “SPARK” project, held its regular meeting on Monday, October 20, 2025, to discuss the agenda items related to advancing community reconciliation efforts in the city of Taiz.
The meeting, attended by committee members and representatives of local authorities and human rights organizations, reviewed proposed mechanisms for resolving local disputes and enhancing community awareness—efforts aimed at fostering a culture of dialogue and tolerance among the residents of Taiz.
The committee also discussed a list of victims in need of psychological and legal support, in preparation for submitting it to the relevant authorities to ensure they receive the necessary assistance within the framework of the transitional justice and local reconciliation program.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the committee emphasized the importance of holding regular meetings and strengthening coordination between local actors and civil society organizations to ensure the success of community reconciliation efforts and the restoration of the social fabric in Taiz Governorate.
