Taiz – Saturday, 29 November
The Community Reconciliation and Consensus Committee — operating within the SPARK project implemented by SAM for Rights and Liberties, in partnership with the Abductees’ Mothers Association and with support from the DT Institute — handed over the home of Murtada Hassan Al-Shawafi in the Lower Haraziyah area of Salah District in Taiz City, nearly eight years after the family lost possession of the property.
The handover was carried out smoothly and without any complications by Fuad Saeed Qassim, marking a positive model for efforts aimed at restoring private property and promoting community de-escalation in areas affected by the conflict.
The committee stated that this achievement is part of its ongoing community efforts to strengthen coexistence and resolve disputes peacefully. It also praised the active role of Bilal, the neighborhood chief, along with local notables and community members who helped create a supportive environment that ensured the success of the handover.
