As part of the activities of the Preachers and Guides Initiative under the Supporting Peace in Yemen Project (SPARK), the project coordinator, Muadh Al-Faqih, met today with Dr. Abu Bakr Abdul Razzaq, Director of the Office of Endowments and Guidance in Taiz Governorate.

During the meeting, discussions focused on the vital role played by preachers and guides in raising community awareness and promoting a culture of reconciliation, as well as highlighting the importance of disseminating the concepts and mechanisms of transitional justice. The project coordinator also presented a copy of the Transitional Justice Guide, designed to build the capacities of guides and preachers, which was prepared and reviewed with the participation of a select group of guides.

The Director of the Office of Endowments and Guidance praised this achievement, emphasizing the importance of disseminating and distributing the guide among preachers and guides so they can benefit from it in developing their knowledge and strengthening their awareness-raising role within the community—particularly in promoting a culture of transitional justice, mechanisms for redress, and advocacy for justice for victims affected by conflict.

These meetings are part of the SPARK project, implemented by SAM for Rights and Liberties in partnership with the Abductees' Mothers Association, and supported by DT Institute, within the framework of efforts aimed at supporting peace processes and enhancing community awareness in Yemen.
