An expanded dialogue session was held in Marib Governorate under the title “Activating Solutions for Vacating the Family Development Building in Al-Maneen Area with Stakeholder Participation.” This session took place as part of the ongoing efforts of the Marib Community Accord and Reconciliation Committee to strengthen community dialogue and address issues related to public buildings across the governorate.

The session focused on reviewing the case of the Women Development (Family Development) Building and its developmental significance. It also provided a transparent platform for direct engagement with all concerned parties and stakeholders to discuss existing challenges and available opportunities. Additionally, the session included a detailed review of the outcomes of prior individual meetings conducted with relevant authorities, which had led to preliminary understandings. It further outlined the complementary roles of government entities and civil society organizations in supporting and ensuring the success of these peaceful solutions.

This dialogue session was implemented as part of the activities of the Reconciliation and Shared Spaces Initiative for Public Building Evacuation Issues – Marib.

The initiative falls under the Supporting Peace in Yemen through Accountability, Reconciliation, and Knowledge Sharing (SPARK) project, implemented by SAM Organization for Rights and Liberties in partnership with the Abductees’ Mothers Association and funded by DT Institute. These efforts aim to build trust among internally displaced persons, local authorities, and the broader community, ensuring that public institutions can resume their service-oriented roles.

The workshop concluded with the agreement on a set of consensus-based solutions approved by all parties, initiating the evacuation process through practical, time-bound steps to be implemented on the ground under the direct supervision of the Marib Community Accord and Reconciliation Committee. This approach ensures the preservation of the dignity of displaced families while providing them with suitable alternatives.
