SAM Organization for Rights and Liberties said today Houthis militia buried in Sana’a the body of a detainee who died under torture without his knowledge of his family.

SAM confirmed in statement today that researcher Adel Al-Zouari died under torture at Houthis prison on 23 August 2016, and his body was dumped near police hospital in Sana’a.

Houthis refused to hand over his body since his death, asking for ransom.

SAM learnt that Houthis militia buried Al-Zouari at al-Hafa cemetery, Annasr street, eastern Sana’a, and only tow if the cemetery guards performed the ritual prayed over his body.

A source close to the family told SAM that al-Zouari family was assaulted by Houthis supervisor at the police hospital when asked about the body of their relative and threatened to demolish their house.

SAM called the international community and organizations to condemn Houthis inhuman and undignified practices.
