SAM Organization for Rights and Liberties condemned the death sentence against the Yemeni Baha'i activist Hamid Kamal Muhammad bin Haidara, closure of the Baha'i institutions and the confiscation of their property by the appeal of the State Security Court controlled by the Houthis militia in Sanaa, on Sunday, March 22, 2020, where the lawyers were surprised that the court expedited the verdict session that was scheduled for March 31, and declared the verdict in the absence of the accused under the pretext of quarantine.

SAM said that it had previously issued a detailed report on the trial of the Baha'i activist Hamid Kamal Muhammad bin Haidara following the ruling of the State Security Court of First Instance in Sana'a on January 4, 2018, on charges related to freedom of religious belief.

SAM called Houthis militia, which has ruled Sanaa since September 2014, to stop pursuing and prosecuting people because of their religious beliefs or disagreement with them in the political or sectarian beliefs and release of all detained citizens because of practicing their religious, sectarian, or political rituals in Yemen.
