SAM Organization for Rights and Liberties called today, July 19, 2020 Houthis militia to release lawyer Marwan Hassan Mohamed Ahmed Al Qasimi, 45 years, a father of five children, who was detained on March 4, 2020 by Al-Hasaba police station, following a collision involved his car, and transferred him on March 5, from Al-Hasaba police station and forcibly disappear by the Houthis-controlled  National Security Apparatus in Sana'a, without allowing his family to visit him.

The statement indicated that the organization is concerned that arrest of lawyer Marwan Al Qasimi, is due to his defense of the Baha'is in Yemen during the years 2017 and 2018, expressing its concern on the increasing harassment of activists and human rights defenders in Yemen by the Houthis group.

In its statement, the organization said that lawyer Marwan Al-Qasimi should be released immediately, and that Eid Al-Adha festival, the religious occasion, should be used to relieve his family burdens, who lives in severe humanitarian conditions as his whereabouts is unknown, in addition to the difficult living conditions that resulted from his detention.
