    Taiz – Sunday, October 26, 2025

In the presence of the Reconciliation and Consensus Committee, and in coordination with the Presidential Committee through its Deputy Sheikh Sadiq Hammoud Moeid, as well as the Director of Sharab Al-Salam District and Head of the Community Committee Sheikh Farouq Al-Soufi, and Mr. Mousa Al-Tayyar, along with members of the Community Reconciliation and Consensus Committee Lawyer Dhi Yazan Al-Sowaei and Kamal Al-Sharaabi, and SAM’s Coordinator, Moath Al-Faqeeh, the building of citizen Mahyoub Qaed Al-Mujaidi was officially handed over to his representative Hammoud Ali Mahyoub Al-Tayyar in Al-Dhuboua neighborhood, Taiz, after remaining outside the owner’s possession since July 2015.

The handover marks the outcome of joint efforts led by SAM Organization for Rights and Liberties, in cooperation with the Presidential and Military Committees, which played a pivotal role in facilitating and expediting the handover process and ensuring its smooth implementation as part of ongoing efforts to support peace and social reconciliation in Taiz Governorate.

This achievement forms part of the “Home Restitution” initiative, implemented under the SPARK project to support peace in Yemen, carried out by SAM Organization for Rights and Liberties in partnership with the Association of Abductees’ Mothers, and with the support of the DT Institute. The initiative aims to restore citizens’ rights and return properties to their rightful owners, serving as a concrete step toward building trust and promoting local peace.

SAM Organization affirms that restoring property and returning rights to their owners is a cornerstone of transitional justice and community reconciliation, and reiterates its commitment to continue working with local and international partners to advance justice and sustainable peace in Yemen.
